I just used E.W. Macdowell for the second time and I was equally as thrilled with them. They are reliable, fast, clean and neat and always fix the problem the first time. This time there was a leak from a flat roof. They came out, assessed the issue and once again could repair the problem without replacing the entire roof.
When the time comes for a entire new roof, I will definitely call them again. It is a complete pleasure to work with them and I highly recommend them.
This was the most pleasant experience I have had with a contractor in Florida. The owner met me to go over the scope of work, quoted a price, we agreed on it and his team was there the next morning. The crew was awesome. They arrived, worked, cleaned up and left. The job was finished as promised and to the level promised as well. Then I had one tile in a different area that was upside down. I asked if there was an easy way to turn it back over and I was told that someone would stop by and fix it for me. I arrived home the other day to find three people working on it. They brought a new tile, did not like how it matched in so they went to another area not visible and took out an original tile, replaced it with the new one, and then put the matching tile into the the spot that I had asked about. Unbelievable! Who goes out of their way like that?
I also had a quote from a previous roofer to replace my roof. He said it was a mess and needed to be replaced immediately. He put in a quote to my insurance company for $60K. It was denied stating that my roof was fine for its age.
While I was speaking to Mr. MacDowell, I told him about it and he told me that my roof would actually be about $23K to replace.
If all of this is not enough, I thought I was going to have to replace the small roof that I had called about because it had a leak. To my surprise, Mr. MacDowell told me it just needed to be repaired and he took care of it the next day!
When I am ready for a new roof, I will definitely have E. W. MacDowell do it! Thanks so much!
My roof needed repair and E.W. MacDowell, Inc. provided an estimate and was on site within a few days. The two gentlemen who did the work were at my home for the better part of twelve hours in the boiling sun and did a remarkable job. When they were finished with the repairs they cleaned up the debris and even blew the property so you would never know they were here. My thanks to them and the gift card that was offered I would like to give back to them with much appreciation. Thank you E.W. MacDowell for such great service and excellent employees.
I have had both good and bad experiences with roofers. E.W.Macdowell is definitely the ‘good’!!! They are friendly, super efficient and cooperative and their work is excellent (even according to the roof inspectors!). I would not hesitate to recommend them to anybody. In fact, anyone who uses them should consider themselves very lucky!
I can not speak more highly about a company if I tried. Having lived in south florida for 36 years and have dealt with many contractors over the years and being in the service business myself I can appreciate when a company responds quickly, keeps their promise and shows up when they say they will and delivers an HONEST OPINION for the customer. That is what E.W. MacDowell did for me. After the inspector for citizens came out and told me i needed roof repairs, and caused me all kind of grief and agrivation, the gentlemen from this company inspected my roof and gave it a clean bill of health, wrote an inspection report for my insurance company broker on the spot and delivered what i consider outstanding results for me and because the inspector Evan was honest and that is a quality hard to find in this day and age, I would trust him for any repairs he said I needed as well as delivering a fair estimate. P.S. I dont work for the company and would not have taken this much time writing this if it wasn’t true.
I had 3 different quotes. Evans not only was the best price, but i felt that he had the best understanding of what i needed done. They exceeded our expectations in every way. I would recommend this company to my friends and family. Stop looking elsewhere and call them!

I can see why these people have ALL 5 star reviews. I originally asked Evan to quote me a new roof. He instead suggested repairing mine which was done quickly and professionally. I can honestly say this is the best and most professional group of contractors I have dealt with in South Florida.
One of the best experiences I have ever had with having to deal with a unexpected expense! I have a 3 year old home that mad storm I look up and see a wet ceiling. I set up 5 appointments for estimates. All others couldn’t find what the issue was from inspecting but all just wanted to open up the roof to further inspect. That’s just to show how diligent Evans was. Not only did he find the problem, he explained everything clear, was very professional, but also has a team of professionals that were able to have it scheduled within a few days and completely repaired before we went on vacation so we had one less thing to worry about. Back in 2021 I was recommended to E.W. Macdowell Inc to work on my roof.Their field Supervisor came out and worked with their office giving me a detailed page by page estimate. I was very happy then and today November 27,2023 their field supervisor came with an estimate of what need to be done.The roof repair was done in a timely manner by their experienced workers. The cost, their clean service was very good. Now they are working with my neighbors replacing and repairing their roof.

Update 12/23. The ONLY thing good about a “small” roof leak that turned out to be a monster, is being able to call EWM to assess and repair. It wasn’t just a roof leak this time, it was a whole rebuild of our rotting chimney box and redoing the stucco. (hard nasty task) EWM was on it quickly, communicated perfectly like always and returned promptly when the stucco was dry for painting. Each night the site was spotlessly picked up. They managed the whole mess, making it look easy. Just can’t say enough GOOD about EWM and EVERYONE there.
The roof of our house and barn hadn’t been inspected/reviewed in a few years. I was dreading having to deal with a roofer again. Stop looking. Hire EW Macdowell. If google allowed 10 stars in a review, I would give them 11. 🙂 EVERY SINGLE person I worked with is what you dream for in responsiveness and concern. Our job was a bit harder as they couldn’t be on our roofs with $-million horses in the arena. EWM are not horse people, but listened and quickly rebooked the balance of the work for another day. The site was spotless when they left.
